LITTLE BIG HORN COLLEGE
Little Big Horn College is located on the Crow Reservation.
The intention of this manuscript from its conception was for a greater understanding of our First Americans. I wrote this piece as merely the foundation of the healing process.
It seems only fitting that half the profits from this project be donated to further the culture and improve the lives of the modern day Crow Indian tribe. The Crow and many other Native Americans struggle to keep their culture alive. The donated money is given the The Little Big Horn Community College. The president of the college , Dr. David Yarlott, Jr. has set up a scholarship fund for the students. Because the college is located on the reservation it serves a dual purpose. The Little Big Horn College enables many more Crow students to attend higher education. Also, they are not leaving their home land.
The Native people were forced to give up their way of life in order for us to live the way we do today. Too many of the present day Indians have been forgotten by our modern society. They were never "absorbed" into the system as originally intended. Most live in deplorable conditions on reservations in what little is left of their land, a land they loved and respected.
